Now What?

Complete Paperwork
Fill out the paperwork that was sent to your email. You must do this within one week of booking or the dates of your intensive will be released. Each partner needs to fill out paperwork individually through their own private portal access.

Read Hold Me Tight
We strongly encourage you to read (or listen to) Hold Me Tight by Sue Johnson. This book will give you a good sense of the kinds of conversations you’ll have with your therapist and it is very important that you familiarize yourself with this resource before the intensive! You do not need to do the exercises at the end of the chapters with your partner. Most couples are not in a place to be able to do so before the intensive.

Block Off Your Schedule
Block off your schedule for the dates of your intensive. Make sure you’re not checking in with work during the breaks. Find childcare if you need to. Book lodging/airfare if you’re coming from out of town. If you’re flying - you’ll want to fly into OMA or the LNK airport. For hotel options, see our “Explore Lincoln” page.

Day One
9 am - 10 am: joint session
10 am - 11 am: individual session
11 am - 12 pm: individual session
12 pm - 2 pm: break
2 pm - 4 pm: joint session
Day Two
9 am - 11 am: joint session
11 am - 1 pm: break
1 pm - 3 pm: joint session
If you or your therapist needs to adjust the schedule before the intensive, you can communicate that via email. If you don’t hear from your therapist about the schedule - you can assume this is it.
There is flexibility within this schedule. You may get to a good place in less time than the two hour scheduled block. Your therapist will stop there. This is so that your brain and body can integrate what you did. To try to do too many new things at once makes it hard to anchor what you’re doing.
You also may decide to not have as long of a break and come back early. You and your therapist can make these decisions while you’re together.
